After moving to London in 2005, impressed by the number of cameras in the city and still exploring its art spaces, André Penteado created the project Art and Surveillance. His goal was to realise ten walks from his home in King’s Cross to art spaces photographing all the cameras he saw on the way.

The project lasted for just two walks and during which184 CCTV cameras were photographed. The reasons for the interruption are explained in the artist book with the same title, self-published by the artist in 2012.
